When we arrived here, we thought
we was lost in f... nothing. But as we finally discovered signs of
civilisation, our impression was: “F..., my ... are freezing. Its so cold and
dark.“ The first words Lukas got to hear from his exchange student and legend
„Tarmo H“ were „Aaahhh Lukas, you look like a ....“. So the Estonians have
a real good sense of being charming and friendly in a polite way. The
host-father of Berdan, the turkish boy, wanted to teach him some russian. Bilingual folks the Estonians. Also
Lukas got teached some new language. It was Eesti. On the second day here, we found out that Kanepi,
the „city“ we stayed, actually means Cannabis. They even have a Cannabis Symbol on their village flag. Pretty cool.
The town is small, has few little stores and an old church. You will freeze in the church, its f... cold. The school, from outer appearance,
looks like a soviet union concrete block house. But from inside the technological
equipment is way better here than in Germany. They have some fast computers and
literally everywhere in this smooth country is internet. Moreover, they use
latest I Pads here. According to the families: Really friendly and kind persons
with a nice sauna culture. Some might live in a rustical way compared to a
german life but its very interesting and nature connected.
All in all, we had a lot of
highlights here but we also had some lows. Greetings go out to Tarmo, Rico the Hüdsi, DJ Tauno and to „the Driver“,
who has driven us ...... ;) to Tartu.
Sincerely
Berdan & Lukas
